The MISSING Tim Burton Batman Movie! | Batman ’89

In 1989 moviegoers were amazed at the new vision of the Dark Knight brought to the screen by filmmaker Tim Burton, starring Michael Keaton as Batman and Jack Nicholson as The Joker. Now, in the tradition of DC’s very successful Batman ’66 series, Batman ’89 is set in a truly gothic Gotham City and features colorful villains including The Joker, Two-Face, and many more. 1. I'd love to see a Batman Beyond, either 50 years after the 1966 show, or 50 years after the 1989 movie. Base a Batman Beyond story in either one of those universes.

  2. I get why you guys didn't like Batman Forever and Batman & Robin, though not only did I really enjoy Returns, but I thought it was a superior sequel to the '89 film.

When Batman Begins was released, I didn't have access to the internet, so opinions were from people around me who didn't necessarily like superheroes or comics.
The general consensus was that the majority enjoyed it very much, especially my girlfriend who definitely doesn't like superheroes, but loves Christian Bale.
About 5 years or so ago when I started seeing opinions on the internet, I've discovered that some comic fans don't like Christopher Nolan's vision, but I haven't seen all three
so I can't comment on the overall idea.

Anyway, with the whole teleporting across dimensions, this is one of the more fun & entertaining episodes in a while. (All your eps are great, but this one more so.)
Especially tricking Ethan into wearing a fake 'tache. I laughed out loud at that…!

  3. A little dramatic about the ending maybe. Only Two-Face structurally has to live by the coin flip; Batman can try it out as a gag. But it might be a little Westified.

  4. I hope Warner Bros will make Batman '89 animated movie using using animation art style just like Batman The Dark Knight Returns and Batman The Doom That Came to Gotham.

  5. Very fun comic. You could tell Quinones getting COVID affected the latter half of the comic and I felt Catwoman was unnecessary. Other than that, it had good art and strong ideas, particularly with how Two-Face was handled. I'd like to see a sequel to this. We already know Superman is getting one.

  6. Omg I just noticed the credits at the end! Such a subtle but nice change, love to see the Back Issues formats change over the years and always getting better and better! 🙂

  7. This might be an unpopular opinion but between the two I definitely prefer Batman Forever. This book just didn't click with me and there were a lot of weird creative choices that I didn't care for. I liked the Superman 78 book a lot more.

  8. I so hope you guys cover cosmic ghost rider volume 1 I love that comic Frank castle going on a cosmic road trip with baby thanos that is too good not to do on this show

  9. LOVED THIS EPISODE Thank you Sal Ben and Mustachioed Ethan for defying the laws of nature and physics to give to me this hour and a half of entertainment. I'll be watching the clock til next week for another installment. BACK ISSUES FOREVER HAHAHAHA!!!!!!

  10. There’s a great YouTube channel called Channel Awesome. They do a video on “if burton done Batman forever” and “Batman and Robin” worth a watch

  11. Burnside is actually a real place in New York City. You guys reference actual NYC so much I’d assume you guys would catch that since some iterations of Gotham has some shades of the Big Apple

  12. I think Barbara is supposed to be “played” by Sean Young who was cast as Vikki Vale in the first film (and had to drop out due to pregnancy) and the infamously lobbied Burton and the producers to play Catwoman in the second film (clearly to no effect.) Nice to see she finally got the part!
